What can I do to help?

We are often asked, “What can I do to help?”

The key objective behind our blog is to spread the word in our efforts to find a living kidney donor.

There are a number of ways you can help:

1. Find out more about becoming a Living Kidney Donor. Read this blog, inform yourself about kidney donation and how you can help save a life. Contact St. Michael’s Hospital Living Donor Transplant Team to find out more.

2. Share it with your friends and family. Please forward an email with the blog URL (www.kidney4eric.com) to your network of contacts. Our network has been tapped — we need to tap into YOUR networks of friends and family. Here’s some suggested text:

“I’ve recently become aware of a genuine need with which we can help. Eric Grove, my [friend / colleague / uncle / relationship] has been told his kidney function is failing and will need a kidney transplant. He is looking for a kind and generous person to step forward and be tested to become a living kidney donor. Please take a moment to read his blog and sign up to follow about his journey at http://www.kidney4eric.com. And, please forward this note on to your network of contacts so that his search will be expanded. It only takes one one donor, one kidney, one person to save a life. We really want to help him find that one .”

3. Add a similar message to your social media like Facebook or Twitter. And don’t just “like it”… SHARE IT !’

4. Subscribe to this blog. Scroll down to the bottom of the main page, enter your email address and hit the subscribe button.

Please share this blog with others, your social networks, friends and family — because it only takes one — one donor, one kidney, one life to save.
